KraussMaffei is expanding its product portfolio in the all-electric injection molding machines segment of the AX series. The company has added two new sizes in the clamping force range of 4,500 and 5,500 kN and also added three new machine models for the hydro-mechanical twin-platen injection molding machine in the GX series. With these additions, KraussMaffei increases its product portfolio in the mid-size machine segment between 4,000 and 9,000 kN. The marketing of the new products is expected to begin at Fakuma 2014. HTI Plastics uses the KM presses for its manufacturing.

HTI Plastics recently installed the largest plastics injection molding press in its history, with the state-of-the-art capability of manufacturing large, thin-walled parts. The 1,800-ton KraussMaffei injection-molding plastics press has the capacity to handle large 330-ounce plastic shot, the raw material fed into the press to create manufactured parts. With the addition of the latest injection-molding press, we now have 24 KraussMaffei presses.

Here at HTI Plastics, we have a state-of-the-art plastic injection molding manufacturing facility with 25 Krauss Maffei injection molding presses, 5 Sodick molding presses, and 1 420 ton Engel molding press. These molding machines range from 55 ton to 1,800 ton. The Krauss Maffei German engineered presses offer outstanding precision, high quality, dynamic responses and the fastest dry cycle times in the industry. We also utilize a computerized material distribution system and have on-site silo storage of resin. While Nebraska has some of the lowest energy costs in the nation, we knew we could reduce are costs even more by transitioning from hydraulic presses to all electric.
