HTI Plastics employees and PCE Inc. employees took some time to volunteer at People’s City Mission. Here they served food for all the guests that arrived for lunch. Our company works towards being involved in our wonderful community of Lincoln, and it’s a great honor to be able to help an organization like People’s City Mission.

The PCM Family Shelter is dedicated to the needs of homeless families and women experiencing some form of personal crisis. The Family Shelter offers guests a safe, warm atmosphere that promotes recovery, self-sufficiency, and independent living. It also serves as a place of refuge for battered women and children.

The Family Shelter provides community and single-family rooms with dormitory-style beds, plus space for cots when weather or other circumstances necessitate. We can accommodate single women and single-parent families (including families with teenage boys). Our two-story facility also provides indoor and outdoor play areas for children as well as several lounges.

People’s City Mission was started in 1907 by local churches, offering food and shelter for transient and impoverished men, women and children.

Today, the People’s City Mission is Lincoln’s primary homeless shelter housing 350 men, women, and children on an average day. PCM provides emergency and transitional housing to both men and families (including single mothers).

The Help Center, opened in 1990, takes the donations our community gives us and distributes them to low-income families within the community for no cost. Here we collect and then distribute food, clothing, household items, furniture, toys, and personal care items.

The PCM Free Medical Clinic opened in July 2009 to provide free medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health care to low-income Lincoln residents without medical insurance. Today the clinic sees more uninsured patients than any other medical provider in Lincoln.
